M1 Open Overview

Teams & Rosters

Teams competing for a divisional title must meet the age requirements and all qualifying criteria established by the competition committee. Each team is evaluated based on these standards before being approved to participate in the M1 Open basketball series. Once approved, teams are required to register a fixed roster of seven (7) players for any promoted matches scheduled.

Player & Team Contract Agreement

Upon approval and invitation to participate in an M1 Open basketball match, each team and its registered players enter into a contractual agreement with M1 Open’s parent company, STM Gaming. All participating parties are required to acknowledge, respect, and comply with the terms outlined in this agreement. Teams and players are classified as independent contractors, and by participating, they understand that STM Gaming assumes no responsibility for expenses related to travel, lodging, meals, training, insurance, or any other costs incurred by the team or its players. M1 Open is a promoted match, not a social or recreational event. All participating teams and players are required to comply with the established terms and agreements. Any breach of the M1 Open agreement—such as refusing a match, or violating exclusivity—may result in contract termination, financial liability, and restrictions on future competition.

Division Levels

In the M1 Open, divisions refer to the structured matchups between teams that are promoted to compete within a specific competition category. To ensure fair and balanced competition, divisions are organized according to defined age ranges, allowing teams to compete against opponents of similar eligibility and level.

The following are the proposed three series levels. The M1 Open will feature both men’s and women’s divisions; however, the men’s division will kick off the series, with the women’s division to follow.

Next Gen Series (Ages 20–29)
Designed for young, high-energy competitors, this division showcases emerging talent, speed, and athletic performance among the next generation of players.

Prime Time Series (Ages 30–39)
Featuring experienced and well-rounded athletes, this division highlights peak skill, strategy, and competitive intensity at a high level of play.

Legacy Series (Ages 40–50)
This division celebrates veteran players, emphasizing basketball IQ, leadership, and refined fundamentals built through years of experience.

Matchmakers

MOMO 1’s matchmaker process ensures fair and competitive games for every team. All teams registered in the M1 Open are evaluated and ranked according to their division level. Once a matchup is approved by the M1 Open gaming panel, game details are presented to both teams for confirmation. Upon agreement, the match is officially scheduled and promoted as a MOMO 1 game event.

Event Locations

M1 Open matches are hosted in selected cities based on the type of series or scheduled teams being promoted. Each basketball event is held in a designated host city that serves as the official venue for the matches. The New York–New Jersey area will serve as the primary hub for M1 Open events, providing a consistent and accessible base for competition. As the M1 Open continues to grow and gain traction, matches will be promoted and hosted across multiple states and overseas, expanding MOMO 1 Open's reach and competitive presence globally.

The Warehouse

M1 Open games are hosted in venues known as “The Warehouse,” a smaller, non-arena setting designed to create a more intimate and high-energy game environment. This compact venue brings fans closer to the action, enhancing the excitement and overall viewing experience. The basketball court inside The Warehouse features a unique layout, developed in accordance with the modified rules and regulations established by M1 Open.

Media Rights & Content Ownership

The M1 Open retains full rights to film, produce, and distribute all media content generated during the match series. As a condition of participation, all approved teams must grant M1 Open and its parent company, STM Gaming, unrestricted rights to use game-related media for promotional, commercial, and broadcast purposes. Teams and players may create their own content; however, filming is limited to smartphones and action cameras only. Large-scale or professional production setups by teams are strictly prohibited.

Sportmanship & Conduct Guidelines

All players are expected to demonstrate respectful and professional conduct both on and off the court. Acts of violence, fighting, bullying, or any behavior that undermines the integrity of the game will not be tolerated. Teams and players must show respect toward game officials, opponents, and fans, and uphold good sportsmanship at all times. While the M1 Open does not exercise direct control over teams and players, the use of illegal drugs or performance-enhancing substances is strongly discouraged. Any team or player found in violation of these guidelines may be subject to disciplinary action, including suspension or permanent disqualification from participation in M1 Open series events.

Awards & Compensation

All teams approved by the competition committee to participate in the M1 Open will receive compensation for competing in the series. Compensation amounts may vary based on match structure and division level, with additional bonuses awarded according to game results and overall performance. Full details regarding compensation and awards will be officially announced once a matchup is scheduled.

Team Uniform Standards

The M1 Open uniform standard code ensures a consistent and professional look across all matches. Instead of traditional jerseys, the M1 Open will use custom sleeveless printed T-shirts paired with dri-fit shorts.

Integrity, Gambling, and Game-Fixing Policy

The M1 Open maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal gambling, match-fixing, or any activity that compromises the integrity of the competition. Any team, player, or individual suspected of involvement in such actions will be subject to a full investigation. Proven violations may result in immediate disqualification, bans from future M1 Open events, and further action as deemed appropriate by the organization.
